Obituary of James Blersch
On August 24, 2017, Army SGT James Donald Blersch passed away at his residence in Centreville, VA . James is the beloved son of Donald and Heather Blersch of Centreville; brother of Kristen Blersch of Centreville and grandson of Madeline Blersch of Ischua, NY.
A 2013 graduate of Westfield High School, James was a member of both the Cross Country and Track teams. As a member of Boy Scout Troop 1137, James held many positions with the Troop, including Senior Patrol Leader, rising to the rank of Eagle Scout. James entered the United States Army in late August 2013. After completion of basic training he was stationed at Fort Benning Georgia with Task Force 1-28 infantry, 3rd Infantry Division. While serving with the task force, James graduated from one of the most elite and rigorous courses, the US Army Sniper School. After completion, James served as a sniper in the Recon Platoon with great distinction. He was a leader and mentor amongst his peers and for his Soldiers. James was a constant source of motivation and encouragement. James always led from the front and recently graduated from the Army's Basic Leader Course where he was awarded the Iron Warrior award for the highest physical fitness score out of the hundreds of candidates.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 12:00 noon on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA 20170. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA.
