Cathy Bowen posted a condolence
Friday, January 26, 2018He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Vienna for many years, serving in many capacities and always with a generous heart. Dick sang in the Wesley choir as well as in area choruses. He was an excellent cook and shared his skills with the congregation, often cooking for youth events and supporting the younger church. He also supported the Wesley PreSchool with his time and assistance with tasks. Dick was a committed Christian who was well grounded in the scriptures and sought to live a Christlike life. He was an inspiration to many at Wesley, and he cared deeply for others and the church.. I will miss Dick. He was a good friend to me and my husband Tom. After moving to Herndon, Dick kept in touch with me by text message. I heard from him on January 12. He texted that he had gone to the hospital thinking he would be admitted, but they sent him home and told him to follow up with his doctor the next week. I was so sorry to hear of his death. Dick Takamatsu was a fine man, a good Christian, sincere, gentle, and kind. He will be deeply missed here on earth, but joyfully received in Heaven.
