Obituary of James Edward Brueggeman
It is with great sadness that the family of James E. Brueggeman, 81, of Sterling, Virginia, announce his passing on November 21, 2020.
James (Jim) was born to Carl Brueggeman and Freda Brueggeman (formerly Freda Broers) in Carlinville, Illinois and was married to Glenelle (Whiff) Brueggeman (formerly Glenelle Evans)
After graduating high school, Jim enlisted into the United States Navy, served his country proudly for 23 years and retired as a CWO-4. After his Naval retirement, he had the honor of working with Boeing and Northrop Grumman as a Senior Systems Engineer where he contributed to the understanding and resolutions of electromagnetic interference and control of the International Space Station.
After his final retirement, Jim frequently volunteered within his community. He was a constant member of the Ruritan and held several offices including Treasurer, Vice President and President. Jim was also a long-time member of the Elks as well as the American Legion. He also enjoyed attending meetings of the Round Table. Jim had a passion for computers and belonged to PATACS. He enjoyed attending their meetings and offered his assistance as a contact person for WINDOWS support and contributed news articles as requested for various topics. Jim, giving back to his community, served on the Board of the Church Mills Home Owners Association.
Jim is survived by his children; Janice Sater and Linda Tasselli, his grandchildren; Laura Rollman, Sara McClanahan (married to Sean McClanahan), Erica Rollman, Vince Tasselli and Dominic Tasselli, and his great grandchildren; Sage McClanahan, Jasper Lacross and Jaysin Basher. Jim also has two remaining siblings; Ray Brueggeman and Barry Brueggeman (married to Cheryl Brueggeman).
Jim will be buried with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery with the date to be determined.
