Rich and Jesse were avid Nordic skiers often visiting Canaan and White Grass. Along with Kent and Marcia they would kick and glide their hearts off throughout the winter months. Of course we became fast friends as we had similar passions for the love of the outdoors, dancing, photography, and winter snow storms. I just read the PATC ski newsletter with his passing being shared and was instantly saddened. May we have many more lovers of the world to replace him. Dang, thinking of the last time we were together...hard to believe and bye old friend. Chip Chase Canaan Valley WV

I have fond memories of Rich. Enjoyed his company whether it was on a ski trip, beer tasting and wine tasting. I also remember his wife Jesse, as we signed up for many of the same yoga lessons as UWYC. He is missed.

Many great ski trips with Rich & Joy over the past 10 years. Always willing to help expand my knowledge and taste for good beer. He was a "joy" to know. He is missed.

I only got to know Rich in the past year over zoom meetings of a folk sing and sea shanty group but it was an absolute pleasure knowing him. He is always a warm presence. I loved the songs he would bring which constantly expanded my knowledge of folk music and I feel so fortunate to have met him even briefly in a remote fashion. I pray for you in this time of grief and I hope you all celebrate knowing the extensive impact of this man. Much Love!
