Obituary of Matthew Aloysius Marsden
Matthew Aloysius Marsden, 27, of Hyattsville, MD passed away suddenly on March 8, 2022. His family, fiancé and friends are shocked and devasted by his loss.
Matt was born on August 2, 1994 in Fairfax, VA. He is preceded in passing through this life by his beloved brother Luke Marsden, grandfather Colonel George Gardes, and grandmother Amy Marsden. Matt is survived by his fiancé Trisha Carire, mother Elizabeth Heath, father Michael Marsden, Jr., and brother John (Jake) Marsden and nephew Carter Marsden, as well as his grandmother Patricia Gardes and grandfather Michael Marsden, Sr. Matt has four aunts and five uncles, fifteen cousins, Trisha’s mother Diana Lopez, and sisters Ashleigh, Kimberly and Brandy, as well, of course, as countless friends.
Matt was currently employed by Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a medical records technician, working hard towards his goal of becoming a radiologist. His fiancé, Trisha, joined him at Walter Reed as well, and they shared their lives and deep love for each other at home, work, within their community, and with their adorable puppy Honey.
Matt was all about movies. He has always had an exceptional talent, skill and interest in writing his own screenplays and producing movies himself, even forming a production company and producing videos for many other performers. He loved sharing his “Song of the Day” and he amassed an astounding collection of the coolest t-shirts ever.
But the most important thing of all is that Matt loved so very deeply. Not only his family, friends, and the very most, Trisha, but also humanity. Matt knew no strangers. He was known for literally picking up hurt and unconscious people off the streets, laying them in his car, and driving them to a safe firehouse he knew would take care of them. He and Trisha spent a great amount of time buying hand-picked necessities: food, socks, blankets, etc., creating bags and distributing them on the streets of Baltimore, roaming on foot or in his car, always offering a hand and everything he had to those who needed help.
Anyone who knew Matt knew that he was among the kindest and gentlest souls on this earth. His care, concern and love shone brightly throughout his life. We find comfort in the words of one of his last posts:
“I feel full of love and loved by others… I feel so grateful and lucky to have the support I have…especially Trisha, my perfect fiancé who I can’t wait to marry…I am happier than I’ve ever been and with the girl of my dreams, striving to do my very best everyday…I love you Trisha! And I love my life right now!”
We will miss you every moment of every day. Still waters run deep my boy.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 4-6 pm at Adams Green Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022at 11:00 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, following immediately by interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. All locations are in Herndon, VA.
The family requests that any donations be made to the JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and we thank you for knowing and loving our Matt.
