Derek, I remember when I visited you and Sigrun many years ago and we toured the White House. I think that’s the first and only time I met your mom.
I have always been grateful to her for giving me a White House Christmas ornament, even though she had just met me. Since that day, I think of her every Christmas when I decorate my tree. After reading about her life and passion for decorating homes and helping others, I now understand why she looked so happy as she gave it to me.
My prayers for peace and comfort go up for you, my friend, and for your family, and all those who knew and loved her.
