Cameron was born on June 2, 1973, in Yankton, South Dakota. He grew up in a military family and traveled extensively throughout his life. He graduated from Arundel High School in Gambrills, Maryland, and went on to earn a B.S. in Environmental Science from West Virginia University. During his college years, Cameron interned with the Environmental Protection Agency.

Cameron began his professional career in environmental studies and then transitioned to web page development and information technology. He worked as a Consultant at Booze Allen Hamilton before joining Reliable Integration Services. At Reliable, he met Lisa, the love of his life. Cameron worked at EDS as an Application Engineer and then at EMC Corporation as a Senior Systems Engineer. In 2008, he joined Apptis, where he served as Director of Advanced Emergent Services. He remained with the company through multiple mergers and acquisitions, including URS (June 2011), AECOM (October 2014), and Amentum (February 2020). In September 2011, Cameron became Vice President, Advanced Emergent Services, and in January 2015, he became Division Vice President, Advanced Emergent Technologies. He continued to serve as Division Vice President in other areas including Federal Information Security Architect and Compliance Lead and Cybersecurity Operations. Cameron also served as Amentum’s first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Cameron was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was a superb rifleman, camper, skier, and snowboarder. He completed two marathons and particularly enjoyed participating in Tough Mudder and Spartan obstacle races with his stepsons Jared and Jordan. He had a strong passion for Lego building and was proud to show off his builds to his family and friends. Cameron and Lisa loved to travel, and their favorite place was Aruba, where they had just recently visited for their son’s spring break. Last but not least, he was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Cameron was known for his kind heart, gentle nature, fun-loving spirit, fierce loyalty, and bad dad jokes. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.  The family invites to celebrate Cameron's life on Saturday, May 20, 2023 between 12 pm and 2 pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home.
